As the name suggests, the sliding contact surface of angular contact spherical sliding bearings is spherical and forms an angle with the bearing axis. Therefore, this type of bearing is particularly suitable for carrying combined (radial and axial) loads. A single angular contact spherical sliding bearing can only bear axial load in one direction. These bearings can be separated, allowing the rings to be installed individually.
Maintenance-free angular contact spherical plain bearings with steel/PTFE FRP (fiber-reinforced polymer containing PTFE) sliding contact surface combination as standard. Designs with other sliding contact surface combinations are available on request (special designs).
